Advertising Policy

We want Spot & Change users to have fun and be inspired through the 'Featured' section of the app. Featured Puzzles are posted by Advertisers and Spot & Change. To ensure that the game remains fun and safe, we have constructed this Advertising Policy to demonstrate the rules for posting Featured Puzzles.

To create an advert, advertisers will use their iPhones and a web page to post puzzles to all of our users. Our users range in age – people as young as 14 will have access to our app. Therefore, advertisers should ensure that their ads are age appropriate and that they understand and comply with all applicable laws, industry codes, rules and regulations.

General Rules

Advertisers should ensure that their adverts demonstrate a true representation of the brand and their products, with clear and understandable content. Advertisers should not post any advert that users may find offensive, defamatory, deceptive, or misleading. In addition, they must not try to access any of our user’s information or commit fraud of any kind using our service. We reserve the sole right to accept, reject or remove ads as and when we see fit and will review every advert before it is posted.

Prohibited Puzzles

We have created a guide for advertisers on prohibited puzzle content. We want you to really showcase your brand, with an engaging game, and not to cause offense or potentially break the law. Although the list is fairly comprehensive, we reserve the right to prohibit any other content as we see fit that might not appear in the following section.

Adverts should not infringe upon or violate another individual's or entity’s intellectual property, privacy, publicity, copyright, or other legal rights.

The following adverts are Prohibited:

  • Puzzles that depict or encourage reckless behavior;
  • Puzzles that show prejudice against, or that demean or degrade a particular race, gender, culture, country, belief, or toward any member of a protected class - here at Spot & Change, we're people people;
  • Puzzles that exploit an individual who is drunk or otherwise intoxicated;
  • Puzzles showing nudity, sexual behavior, or obscene gestures;
  • Puzzles showing alcohol or drugs use and/or paraphernalia;
  • Puzzles showing excessive violence, including the harming of animals;
  • Shocking, sensational, or disrespectful puzzles;
  • Deceptive, false, or misleading content, including deceptive claims or offers.
  • Puzzles that direct users to phishing links, malware, or similarly harmful codes or sites; and
  • Puzzles that deceive users into providing personal information without their knowledge, under false pretenses, or to companies that resell, trade, or otherwise misuse that personal information.

Prohibited Advertisers

Some products and services are not suitable for our audiences. This includes products that would not be age appropriate for our younger audience, and products that could potentially cause harm to our users, or any other entity.

Products in the following categories are prohibited:

  • Adult products and services;
  • Cigarettes (including e-cigarettes), cigars, smokeless tobacco, and other smoking related products;
  • Products or services that bypass copyright protection;
  • Selling counterfeit goods or engaging in copyright piracy;
  • Deceptive or fraudulent offers;
  • Illegal or recreational drugs or drug paraphernalia;
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Counterfeit or fake products, such as handbags, watches or fake hover boards;
  • Firearms, weapons, ammunition, or accessories;
  • Ads that promote particular financial securities or that provide insider trading tips, or ways to cheat the market;
  • Any illegal conduct, product, or enterprise.

Quality of Ads

All ads that will be displayed on Spot & Change must be solvable puzzles (i.e. don’t make miniscule differences that are near impossible to find). This means puzzles must be of the highest quality and should enhance the user experience (this is a Spot the Difference Game after all). Please refer to the following guidelines for creating a Spot & Change Puzzle.

  • Changes made to the puzzle (differences) must be “Spottable”
  • Changes must not overlap
  • Do not make excessive changes
  • Use camera equipment to ensure puzzles line up perfectly.
  • Be creative and engage with your audience.

If products appear in the image, make sure that you have permission to use said products for your advertisement. It is up to you whether to include branding within each puzzle, and it is your sole responsibility to ensure that products are shown in their best light.
